Sounds from the cinema at Marion Concert Band July 22 performance

On Friday, July 22, the Marion Concert Band continues its Friday evening concert series with a program featuring music from movies and TV shows. The program, which includes a violin soloist, as well as soundtrack music from some major motion pictures includes “Jurassic Park Soundtrack Highlights” and “Theme from Schindler's List” by J. Williams, “Bond...James Bond” by S. Bulla, “Batman Theme” by N. Hefti and “Selections from The Great Race” by H. Mancini.

Violinist Nicole Laprise will also perform. She is a string specialist in the Fall River Public Schools and directs the New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestra's Repertory Orchestra. She performs regularly with the Bristol County Chorus Orchestra, the Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus Orchestra and the Community College of Rhode Island Chorus Orchestra.

The concert will be held at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand at Island Wharf off of Front Street. The program, under the direction of Tobias Monte, will begin at 7 p.m. All concerts are free and open to the public.
