Apr 17, 2017

Sippican Historical Society's Speaker Series continues with a presentation on the history of Yankee Magazine.

The talk will be held on April 27 at 7:00 p.m., at Marion's Music Hall.

Speaker J.D. Hale, the Vice-President of Yankee Publishing, will talk about the history of Yankee Magazine. Founded in 1935, Yankee Magazine has managed to stay private and profitable for 82 years.

Founded in Dublin, New Hampshire in a red barn, the magazine is still there and is still going strong. People love the magazine’s photographs of fall leaves and stories about hiking trails, seaside inns, and Indian pudding. Its aim has been to chronicle the sights and charms of New England and its travel tips and recipes lend to the magazine’s goal of preserving New England culture.
