Mattapoisett church's annual "Christmas Story" returns

Nov 5, 2017

For a century, the Mattapoisett Congregational Church has presented the "Christmas Story" to the community in a combination of storytelling, music, prayer, and mission.

This year, the Church's annual "White Gifts Pageant Sunday" will be held Sunday, December 17, at 3 p.m., in Reynard Hall, 27 Church Street.

White Gifts Sunday is celebrated throughout the world on the third Sunday of Advent, and refers to gifts for those in need which are wrapped in white paper.

Gifts collected in Mattapoisett during the pageant will help local children. Gift tags featuring children's Christmas wishes will be available starting on November 26. Monetary donations are welcome.

People of all ages and talent are welcome to participate as readers, musicians, set design, acting, costumes, and more in the Christmas pageant.  The first rehearsal will be on November 26, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.. Lead actors must attend all rehearsals.
