Marion Antique Auctions is holding its Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Auction on November 25, beginning at 10 a.m.

The auction will be held at the Marion Music Hall which overlooks Marion Harbor and is located at 164 Front Street.

From the estate of Cynthia Bryden, whose family owned the Pairpoint Glass Company, comes a fine selection of Pairpoint, Tiffany and Steuben glass, as well as a collection of paintings by Baltimore artist, Melvin Miller.

An old Rochester, MA family has consigned some American furniture and two Willard clocks.

American and European paintings dominate this sale, which includes a large winter landscape by William Preston Phelps, two Lemuel D. Eldreds, a C. H. Gifford, A. T. Bricher with a New Bedford Whaling Museum provenance, Theresa Bernstein, Frank Vining Smith, Brian Coole and Marshall Johnson. There is also a collection of European paintings by Jan Horemans, Johann Kasper, and J. C. Huber.

One of the most valuable items in the sale is a large, almost life-size marble sculpture by Fortunato Galli (Italian, early 20th century). The statue depicts a classical woman, possibly Venus, and measures 66” high. The auction will also offer three bronze sculptures by Beverly Benson Seamans.

There will also be a collection of whaling and scrimshaw items, highlighted by a 19th century watch hutch.

A plethora of sterling silver is included in the sale: Tiffany, Georg Jensen, Sciarrotta, Gorham, Spanish Colonial, Georgian silver, German and Swiss. A fine collection of estate jewelry was consigned from a Duxbury, MA estate.

Other items in the sale include a group of early 20th century Navajo rugs, the Shaker collection of author Joan Kaiser, pre-Columbian Taino items from the noted scholar, Larry Roberts, L. Frank Baum books, local maps, Atlases, postcards and a signed note by Abraham Lincoln. A rare E. Santory violin bow is expected to sell well.

Rounding out the sale are a group of Civil War items to include swords, rifles and interesting letters.
