Cub Scouts' soapbox derby racing to town Nov. 18

Nov 13, 2017

Marion Cub Scout Pack 32 is holding a soapbox derby on Saturday, November 18, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The derby will be held on Holmes Street. If weather forces a cancellation, the derby's rain date is Sunday, Nov. 19.

From 9 a.m.-noon, the Scouts will be racing their homemade soap box cars. From noon-1 p.m., the raceway will open up to family members, potential Scouts, and other community members who feel the need for speed, and want to take the soapbox cars for a spin.

The Cub Scouts welcome everyone to the races, whether they want to try out the cars or just cheer on the competitors.

There is still time for boys from kindergarten through grade five to join the Cub Scouts. Keep in mind that in the summer of 2018, the first girls will join the Cub Scout pack as well.
