Walk in a winter wonderland on Jan. 1

Dec 23, 2017

Kick off the New Year right with a walk through a wintry fairyland on Monday, January 1 at 1 p.m.

The walk will be held at the Sippican Lands Trusts  White Eagle property, which includes bogs, forests, an old railway trail and ponds. Alan Harris, Sippican Lands Trust’s walk leader and board member, will showcase the various features of the White Eagle property at Aucoot Woods during the Lands Trust's New Year’s Day Walk.

White Eagle is located off of Route 6 in Marion. Take Parlowtown Road across from the town cemetery and follow road until you reach the cul-de- sac. Bear left onto the dirt road and follow past the abandoned cranberry bog on your right. Parking is available directly past the bog and along the dirt roadside. The kiosk is a short walk beyond.

The walk is free and no registration is required. If more than two inches of snow are on the ground, then the walk will be canceled. If the walk is canceled due to inclement weather or more than two inches of snow on the ground, then information will be posted to the Sippican Lands Trust's website and Facebook page.
