Lions Club offering electronics recycling day May 19

The Mattapoisett Lions Club will sponsor its fourth annual Electronics and Household Appliance Recycling Day on Saturday May 19, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event will be held next to the former Bowl-Mor Bowling Alley, at 22 County Road in Mattapoisett.

Tri-town residents are encouraged to sort through their basement, attic, office and garage for any electronic or electric devices, and any household appliances (large and small) just collecting dust and no longer needed. Bring them to the event and (for a nominal fee) have them recycled and disposed of once and for all.

Pick-ups will be considered for disabled citizens.

Fees for recycling are: $35 for wood consoles and projection televisions;  $30 for all other televisions; $20 per computer monitor; $10 for miscellaneous electronics (laptops, computers, keyboards, speakers, video games, camera/video/audio equipment, fax/copy/scanner machines, printers, hard drives, memory cards, servers, computer parts); $10 for household appliances (refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, stoves, dishwashers, clothes washers, dryers, toasters, toaster ovens, microwave ovens, coffee makers);  $10 for metal items (poles, desks, barbecue grills) $5 for small items (irons, hairdryers, cell phones, telephones, mice, plugs, wires, lamps, pots, pans).

There is a $40 maximum for dropoff per car. All donations to benefit Lions Club Charities and are tax deductible as may be allowed by law.
