Fourth of July Horse Show returning to Marion for its 71st year

The longest running horse show in New England will return to Marion on July 4.

The 71st annual Fourth of July Horse Show will be held at Washburn Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. Parking and admission for the event is free.

The show will feature six different classes of competition -- English, Western, Saddle Seat, Driving, Trail and Miniature Horse. Awards are granted to the top six horses in each class.

Event organizer Hollie Danhauser said the horse show is great holiday event for families and people of all ages.

In addition to the show, the event will feature pony rides, face-painting, and various vendors. R.W. Catering will provide food for purchase.
