Sara Achorn of Rochester came home from Saturday's Miss Massachusetts pageant with two scholarship awards and the honors to go with them.

The reigning Miss New Bedford, competing on June 30 in Worcester, fell short of the state crown but did pick up a $200 scholarship as the Most Talented Non-Finalist. She was also the Children's Miracle Network Hospital Miracle Maker Award winner, for which she received a $300 scholarship.

Achorn has just completed her freshman year at Lesley University.
