Jul 16, 2018

First Congregational Church of Marion will hold its annual "Super Duper Summer Fair" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, on the church grounds located at 28 Main St.

The Harpoon Harmonizers kick off the street festival at 10 a.m. There will be food for sale from The Sidewalk Grill, featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, and corn-on-the cob. More delicious food is available inside the air-conditioned Chapel Cafe, where fair-goers can dine on lobster rolls and sandwiches while enjoying music played by Truman Terrell and Bob Sanderson with vocal accompaniment by Michelle Richardson

Children can enjoy games, crafts, dunk tank, putting green, penny candy and more. Adults can peruse the White Elephant sale area for some bargains on new and gently-used items. There will be a book sale booth for readers of all ages. There will also be home baked goods, candy and fresh-picked blueberries for sale.

Meanwhile, The Penny Pincher's Exchange, the church's volunteer consignment and thrift shop, located at 39 Main St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the fair.

Donations are still being sought for tables at the fair, including nautical and sporting goods, including kayaks, dinghies, bikes, golf clubs, as well as garden equipment.

Plants and vegetables, including small perennials and annuals in full bloom are sought for a very lively plant booth

Organizers also seek furniture, paintings, gift certificates for goods and services, and other treasures for the silent auction. To donate, please call Judith Coykendall at 508-972-2430.
