Gateway Babe Ruth and Team Gateway AAU will  host its 5th Annual Summer Camp for players ages to 9 to 14 years old.

Summer baseball camp will be held on Sundays, starting Aug. 12, 19, 26 and Sept 2, and one weeknight a week for scrimmages and drills at Dexter Lane in Rochester. Sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

The summer camp is a series of stations that focus on repetitive drills.   Fielding, throwing, outfield, hitting, bunting, base running.   It helps prepare 12 year olds to the 90 foot diamond and the younger players get to work on their skills, organizers said.

Meanwhile, the 2018 Gateway Fall Ball and Wooden Bat Varsity Division are now taking registration for fall. w open.  Players 12 to 16 years of age can register. Players must be the age they will play in by May 1, 2019. Games will occasionally be played on weeknights, but mostly on weekends. There will be 10 to 12 games, plus playoffs.
