Rochester firefighters put out half acre brush fire, no injuries

ROCHESTER — An out-of-control cook fire became a half-acre brush between Bryant Lane and Forbes Road on May 22 before it was put out by the Fire Department

Captain Jeffrey Eldridge said the fire did not reach any of the nearby houses. Firefighters from Rochester tackled the blaze on Forbes Road, while a Marion Fire Department brush breaker helped on Bryant Lane. 

Firefighters arrived at 4:08 p.m. and had extinguished the fire by 4:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
