Black Lives Matter march to take place in Mattapoisett
Jun 1, 2020
MATTAPOISETT — The Tri-Town will hold a peaceful Black Lives Matter march on June 5 from noon to 1 p.m. starting at the Park and Ride in Mattapoisett and ending at the gazebo in Shipyard Park.
The march is in response to the death of George Floyd, a black man from Minneapolis on who died on May 25 after a city police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes. The officer is now being tried for third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
The march will be an all-ages event. Participants are encouraged to wear a mask and bring a sign or banner.
