St Gabriel's Episcopal Church rise against hunger
MARION — St Gabriel's Episcopal Church hosted a Rise Against Hunger Event on Sunday, March 12.
Teams of volunteers from the church and community measured, weighed and packed meals for the non-profit program Rise Against Hunger.
Volunteers packed 10,000 meals in two hours, said church member Tanya Ambrosi.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations. The organization is working to end global hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies
“It was so inspiring to see folks of all ages help out, and to have them be the ‘hands and feet’ of Christ at work in the world,” said Eric Fialho, rector of Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church. “I am so proud of this Parish for helping raise all the funds and package 10,000 meals.”
