Applicants sought for vacant board positions in Rochester
ROCHESTER — Residents of Rochester who are “willing to step up” are welcome to apply for positions on various town boards, said Rochester Town Administrator Glenn Cannon at a meeting of the Rochester Select Board on Monday, June 5.
There are currently vacancies on the Rochester Agricultural Commission, Conservation Commission, Cultural Council, Historic Commission, Historic District Commission, Personnel Board and Soil Board in the Town of Rochester.
The most recent vacancy is a seat on the Rochester Personnel Board that was vacated by Adam Murphy who was recently elected to the Rochester Select Board, beating out incumbent Woody Hartley.
“As required in the personnel board, bylaws, [Murphy] cannot sit on the Personnel Board because he is an elected member of town here,” said Cannon. As of Monday, June 5, Murphy sits as the Rochester Select Board Clerk.
According to Cannon, one applicant, Greg Hardy, who ran for Rochester School Committee in the recent town election, has already expressed interest for a seat on the Personnel Board.
