MARION — The third annual NolanFest, hosted by the Nolan Gibbons Memorial Fund, will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Silvershell Beach in Marion.
NolanFest is a community music festival that is free and open to the public. NolanFest is held in honor of Nolan Gibbons, a 15-year-old rising sophomore at Old Rochester Regional High School who died from “Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood.”
Gibbons won 2017's New England’s Got Talent and traveled the country as a member of “Acapop! KIDS,” a national all-kids a cappella group formed by the founders and members of the Grammy Award-winning group, Pentatonix.
This year, the festival will include performances by a capella group Hyannis Sound, Break a Leg Theater Company, Showstoppers, the cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from the New Bedford Festival Theater and more.
Along with live music, the event will have food trucks, NolanFest merchandise and an auction for a personal video from Grammy-winner and Pentatonix co-founder Scott Hoying.
NolanFest organizers are looking for volunteers. For more information on volunteering, visit www.nolangibbons.org/nolanfest.
All proceeds from NolanFest go toward the Nolan Gibbons Memorial Fund, a scholarship fund that “seeks to empower and support performing artists through grants and scholarships in support of their creative pursuits and passions.”
