A longtime resident of Rochester, Stacie Noble Shriver said that she became aware through the COVID-19 pandemic that the Old Rochester Regional School District could use more parental input.

“I just want to give back,” said Noble Shriver. “I’ve been living in this town for 20 years and my kids went through the school system — Now they are graduating from college and I have more time.”

Noble Shriver works as a physician and thinks that her career could have a positive impact on her potential as a school committee member.

“I think it's a good job for someone like me,” said Noble Shriver. “I can look at data. I can listen to people. I’m used to being in a system that has a lot of regulations, and I just think I can give good input.

Noble Shriver said that she can bring a calm and relaxed demeanor to the school committee, with an approach that she described as “common sense-based.”

“I want to be a representative of the people of Rochester who feel that their voices are not being listened to,” said Noble Shriver.

Through the campaign process, Noble Shriver said that she has enjoyed going to candidates night, meeting new people and listening to their concerns.

“It’s been good getting to know people through the [campaign] process,” said Noble Shriver. “Listening to both sides and different people…I love that whole community effort.”

She said that she has served on different boards and committees through her profession, in a work environment.

“As someone who has lived here and raised my kids here, I love it,” said Noble Shriver. “I have a love for the community, and I think when you come to a place you are here to help everyone.”
