MATTAPOISETT — Get an early start to the summer by joining the Marion Natural History Museum for a butterfly walk.

The Massachusetts Butterfly Club’s Andrew Griffith will lead the July 3 walk in Nasketucket State Park, Mattapoisett.

Griffith is the operations manager for Beaver Dam Partners, which owns Sippican Week and sister papers Dartmouth, Wareham, and Nemasket Week.

During the walk, local butterfly and moth species will be identified while their habitat requirements, life cycles and migration patterns will be discussed.

“Let's have some fun looking for our summer residents,” material from the Marion Natural History Museum said.

The walk will meet at Nasketucket Park on Brandt Beach Road at 10:30 a.m. Plan to wear appropriate clothing for walking through vegetation.
