A variety of lemonade served up by Marion kids
It’s officially summer time, and that means backyard cookouts, sandy beaches — and that classic childhood experience, lemonade stands.
Marion residents Ruben Garcia, 11, and Gabriel Kirby, 12, set up their stand at the corner of County Road and Route 105 the afternoon of Tuesday, July 2.
“I just wanted to make some money,” said Ruben. As of press time, he didn’t know what he was going to spend it on — “I’m going to go to a store and look around.”
Gabriel said he came out there to accompany Ruben.
The two entrepreneurs have set up their lemonade stand before.
“We’ve made a decent amount,” said Gabriel.
Their prior expertise showed in their range of offerings — they had regular lemonade and blackberry lemonade for sale, each for a dollar a cup.
Ruben said they wanted to “have a wider variety for people to choose.”
