ORANGE, CT -Frances Mello, 85, of Orange, CT formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2024 at her home with her godson Russell Sequeira Jr. by her side.

Born in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Louise (Corey) and Peter V. Mello, Sr. Frances attended Marion schools, and worked as an inspector for the Acushnet Company for more than 25 years. A longtime Marion resident, she moved to Orange, CT in 2023 for extra love and support, as she continued to struggle with her health.

Frances enjoyed tag sales, shopping at the outlets, collecting crackle glass and traveling during her younger years. She also enjoyed listening to Fats Domino records. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to cook, and get together for the holidays.

Survivors include her brother, Antone Mello of Rochester Hills, MI; and her sister, Estella Sequeira of Milford, CT.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Leroy Mello, Peter Mello, Jr., Domingo Mello and Joseph Mello.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 11 AM.  Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
