MARION — A group at the Marion Natural History Museum has spent the summer exploring fresh and saltwater ecosystems.

The museum’s Coastal Exploration program examined tadpoles and salamanders undergoing metamorphosis, spotted turtles fighting with each other, a water snake, silversides, shrimp and more.

The Marion Harbormaster Department also helped collect plankton samples.
