ROCHESTER — The Rochester Police Department grew by two members on Monday, Oct. 7 as a pair of “really great candidates” were sworn in as full-time officers.

The Rochester Select Board unanimously voted to appoint Zach Dupre and Jack Domagala after Lt. Donald Kemmett briefed the board about their experience.

“This is the best thing I’m going to do all week,” said Kemmett. “I get to present two really great candidates, two fine people with training and experience that is going to really benefit the town.”

Domagala has a background in loss prevention and previously worked for the Seekonk Police Department, according to Kemmett. He graduated from the Boylston Police Academy in 2013.

“I feel he is a strong candidate,” said Kemmett of Domagala.

Kemmett said that Dupre had been previously working for a “big city” police department and is looking to become more community-oriented.

Dupre is a former K-9 officer, a certified sexual assault investigator and a field training officer, said Kemmett.

Kemmett also said that Dupre’s computer-related degree will be a big help in the office.

“Both of them have full-time police academy experience and they are ready to go, so I am seeking their appointment as soon as possible,” said Kemmett, to which the board obliged.
