Marion to open public review period for revised electricity aggregation plan
MARION — The town of Marion is holding a 30-day public review period for its revised aggregation plan for Marion Community Electricity Aggregation, the town announced Monday, Dec. 9.
Marion Community Electricity Aggregation is the town’s official electricity supply program, active since 2016.
The aggregation plan describes how Marion’s electricity program is structured and operated. Marion secured approval for its original aggregation plan from the Department of Public Utilities in 2015, according to a town press release.
The Department of Public Utilities in July 2024 issued new rules for aggregation plans, called “Guidelines for Municipal Aggregators,” which expand local authority for cities and towns concerning the operation of their programs and increase public transparency about program operations, the release said.
The revisions to Marion’s aggregation plan ensure the plan aligns with the new guidelines, the release said.
The revised plan will not impact Marion Community Electricity Aggregation’s current electricity supply options and prices, which are fixed until November 2025 through the town’s supply contract with Constellation.

The program website has a comment form to provide written comments. Comments can also be emailed to support_ma@goodenergy.com with the subject line “Marion Plan Comments.”
Marion’s program was developed and is managed on a daily basis by consultant Good Energy, the release said.
The public review period is open until January 13, 2024.
