Computer servers, radio equipment among items approved for ARPA funding in Mattapoisett
MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Select Board approved spending more than $200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds across five different items Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The funding, $208,365 in total, will be used for expenses and to purchase equipment for multiple different town departments.
The American Rescue Plan Act is a $1.9 trillion relief package stimulus bill signed by President Joe Biden in 2021. Cities and towns have a Dec. 31, 2024 deadline to commit American Rescue Plan Act funds, according to the Massachusetts Municipal Association.
The highest figure approved Dec. 17 was $109,109 for the replacement of town computer servers.
The Select Board further allocated $3,251 for computer equipment and information technology infrastructure upgrades.
Also approved was $85,000 for radio equipment for the highway and water/sewer departments.
For various public nursing expenses not already included in the annual budget, the Select Board designated $2,835.
For automated external defibrillator supplies, including pads for town-owned defibrillators, $8,170 was approved.
The allocations come a little over months after the town approved nearly $480,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funding for four items, including the construction of a water and sewer building, in October.
