It’s time for local residents to get in line when they park in the Marion General Store lot, says Town Administrator Paul Dawson.

To measure out the appropriate spacing and repaint the lines in between parking spots, Dawson said that a contractor would review the property, which is co-owned by several area businesses.

“You can’t see the lines so it really is time for new lines,” Dawson said. “You can’t even see them on Google Earth.”

One of the lot’s co-owners, John Ludes, first brought the matter to the attention of the Selectmen two weeks ago.

Ludes said he was seeking town assistance in helping to repair the lot, which is widely used by the public despite being a privately owned property.

To date, Dawson said that the town and the lot’s owners are still negotiating an agreement to cover the costs of the repairs.
