100+ crowd experiences Grace Morrison’s ‘Saltwater Country’

Oct 6, 2024

Grace Morrison wowed a near sold-out crowd in her hometown of Wareham on Saturday, October 5, singing songs from her upcoming album Saltwater Country with a full band.

More than 100 people attended the event, which was hosted in partnership with Wareham Media (formerly Wareham Community Television) and served as a kick-off celebration for the album. Morrison, of Rochester, is working to raise the remaining funds needed to release Saltwater Country. Currently, she is just over 30% of the way toward her $10,000 Kickstarter fundraising goal. (This is an “all or nothing” fundraiser: Morrison must raise the entire $10,000 to receive the money. If she doesn’t, the donors are not charged and she receives no funds.)

The show transformed an area of Stone Path Malt’s Kendrick Road taproom typically reserved for cornhole tournaments into a seated concert venue, with lighting and sound production provided by Wareham Media. Members of the band accompanying Morrison were Jon Evans on bass, Radoslav Lorkovic on keys and accordion, Michael Moore on drums, and Lauren Hartley (Morrison’s stepdaughter) also providing vocals. Evans, who tours with singer-songwriter Tori Amos and has played with Sarah McLachlan, is producing Saltwater Country. Morrison met Lorkovic when the latter was touring as Shawn Mullins’ sideman.
