American Legion members honored for decades of service

Evelyn Pursley and Donald Fleming were honored at Tuesday night’s Selectmen meeting for their decades of continuous membership with the Florence Eastman American Legion Post 280.
“Evelyn was, at one time, the commander of the post,” said Commander Michael Lamoureux. “She has been a big help to us over the years.”
Pursley has been a member of the American Legion for 60 years, and Fleming has been a member for 50 years.
“He has been a great help with his expertise in the legal profession,” Lamoreux said of Flemming. “He keeps me on the straight and narrow…which is a full time job.”
