Applications open for Mattapoisett Cultural Council funding
MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Cultural Council is now accepting grant proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities and science programs.
Individuals and organizations can apply for funding for cultural projects and activities in and around town until Oct. 15.
Eligible applicants include individuals, nonprofits, anyone associated with public schools, libraries, municipal agencies and religious organizations. Some for-profit organizations may also be considered.
Funds can support exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures. These programs promote the availability of rich cultural experiences for Mattapoisett and other South Coast residents.
Recently funded projects included programs at the Mattaposiett Free Public Library, dance and musical performances and in-school and summertime arts and science programs.
Applicants should review local funding priorities at www.mass-culture.org/mattapoisett. Funding will be determined by how well the program meets local priorities, community support and involvement, evidence of track record, evidence that a public benefit will result from the project, financial need and demonstrated planning.
The application can be found at massculturalcouncil.org/communities/local-cultural-council-program/application-process. To contact Mattapoisett Cultural Council directly with questions, email chrisbrennan1955@comcast.net.
