Arrested man charged with 5th OUI violation
A Florida man was charged with operating under the influence of drugs and alcohol after police found him unresponsive inside a car parked on North Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police identified the man as 40-year-old Alexander Aulston of Miami, Fla. Police said responding officers found him in a rental car he was not authorized to drive. Several empty beer cans and liquor bottles were found in the front seat, police said.
Police called Rochester paramedics for assistance because Aulston was unconscious in the driver’s seat, police said.
After searching the vehicle, police reported finding three different types of pills and what appeared to be cocaine.
Paramedics transported Aulston to Tobey Hospital for evaluation. After his release, Rochester police held him without bail before transport to the Plymouth County House of Correction.
According to police, Aulston was visiting relatives who live in Carver.
Aulston was on probation in Florida and officials there have been notified of his arrest. He has been charged with operating under the influence liquor, fifth offense, operating under the influence of drugs, operating after license suspended, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a class E drug, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and use of a motor vehicle without authority.
Additional charges may be filed against Aulston as well as his mother, Sylvia Aulston, as the investigation continues, police said.
