Buzzards Bay MusicFest returns this weekend

MARION — Concerts are scheduled Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 as part of the 24th annual Buzzards Bay MusicFest taking place at The Performing Arts auditorium at Tabor Academy.

The traditional festival provides performances that allow the public to experience the talents of musicians both local and national. 

A chamber music concert will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 16 and will feature “Reverie’’ by Debussy, “Bohemian Cafe’’ by Stacy Garrop, “Quintet Opus 39 in G Minor’’ by  Sergei Prokofiev and “String Sextet #2, Opus 36 in G Major’’ by Johannes Brahms.

An orchestra concert will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17 and will include Mozart’s “Overture to Cosi fan tutte,’’ “Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major’’ and “Symphony No. 41, in C Major K551 Jupiter”  as well as “Lyric for Strings’’ by George Walker.
