Christmas tree disposal scheduled

The holidays are over and towns have made plans for residents to dispose of their Christmas trees.

Marion will offer curbside Christmas tree collection during the week of Jan. 10 through Jan. 14. 

All trees must be curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of regular rubbish collection. Make sure  rubbish containers are not blocked by leaving no less than five feet of clearance on each side.  

Marion residents can also dispose of their trees at the drop-off site located at the end of Benson Brook Road on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Trees in plastic bags or with ornaments will not be accepted.  For more information, call the Marion DPW Office at (508) 748-3540.

Christmas tree pick-up in Mattapoisett is scheduled for the weeks ending Jan. 7 and Jan. 14. 

Trees should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of regularly scheduled rubbish pick-up. 

They are also accepted at the Transfer Station on Tinkham Hill Road. 

Trees in plastic bags or with ornaments will not be picked up.
