Coast Guard auxiliary to offer safe boating courses
WAREHAM — The Wareham and Marion U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla is offering several one-day safe boating courses.
These courses are offered the first Saturday of the month through May, except the first class will be held Feb. 14. Upon completion, boaters will be properly certified according to boating laws going into effect in April.
Each class runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the West Wareham Fire Station at 2367 Cranberry Highway. There will be two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch.
Topics will include boating emergencies, state and federal boating laws, required safety equipment and more. A final exam will be administered at the end of the course.
