Complete Streets status unlocks grant money for Marion

May 8, 2019

MARION — The town now qualifies for grants up to $400,000 per year for projects thanks to its recently-achieved Tier 2 status in the Complete Streets Program.

Marion is one of only seven towns on the southeast coast and Cape to reach Tier 2 status. The town also applied for and received a grant to develop a plan that lists a variety of transportation projects.

Now the town is eligible to apply twice a year for construction funds in October and May. Marion’s Transportation and Circulation Task Force will request funds to work toward safer driving, walking, and biking.
