Construction begins on Main Street and Hiller Street in Marion
MARION — Beginning on Thursday, Oct.2, reclamation work and structure adjustments will begin on Main Street, from Spring Street to Water Street, and Hiller Street from Front Street to Main Street.
Installation of permanent pavement will happen during the week of Sunday, Oct. 12, with line striping to follow. Schedule and completion of work is subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Additionally, a temporary traffic detour may be implemented during permanent paving.
Driveway access for residents within paving areas will be maintained throughout the project, though there will be small delays.
The Marion Department of Public Works requests that vehicles do not park along the roadway during construction.
Delays can be expected while traveling through the construction area and motors should seek alternate routes.
