Bulldogs take another loss at first home game
ROCHESTER — The Old Rochester Regional High School varsity football team almost caught up to Dartmouth High School Friday, Sept. 26 at their first home game of the season.
Dartmouth High School beat Old Rochester 33-21, keeping Old Rochester at 0-4 this season.
Regardless of the score, Head Coach Bryce Guilbeault was proud that his team kept fighting.
“We did some things not so good, but we got some young players out there, and we were just competing. I'm glad the kids kept competing today,” said Guilbeault.
After half time, Old Rochester picked up the pace and gained on Dartmouth’s score. Guilbeault said “they came out and they fought.”
Looking ahead to the season, Guilbeault hopes to get all the players on the same page.
“Sometimes we've got nine, ten guys doing the right thing, and then in football, if everybody's on the same page, that's where big plays happen.”
Old Rochester has a bye game next week, giving the team more time to practice.
“We got some time to rest up, get healthy and then we get into league play” said Guilbeault.
Guilbeault says the team dynamic is strong, full of camaraderie, thanks to good captains and senior leadership.
“We’ve got some really good senior leaders.” Guilbeault continued, “They understand that young guys are playing.”
The Old Rochester Bulldogs will take on Somerset Berkley High School on Friday, Oct. 10 for another home game.
