Covid state of emergency lifted in Mattapoisett

Jun 29, 2021

MATTAPOISETT — The Select Board decided on June 29 to lift the town’s state of emergency, put in place at the start of covid.

“That was placed March 16-ish or somewhere around there,” Select Board member Jordan Collyer said. “Your fourth day at work,” he added, referring to Town Administrator Mike Lorenco.

Both Collyer and Board member Jodi Lynn Bauer voted to lift the state of emergency.

With the commonwealth state of emergency lifted, Collyer said, “ours doesn’t need to be active anymore.”

The decision follows the first week — from June 18 to 24 — since late September when Mattapoisett recorded no new covid cases.
