Traffic was stopped on Route 6 between the Marion intersection and Parkway Lane after a dryer fire broke out at the Marion Animal Hospital at about 3 p.m.

According to Captain Allen Denham, the fire started in the dryer, likely from a towel getting stuck. Though there was some smoke in the building, the fire was contained to the dryer. All employees and animals were able to get out safely.

Denham said the site had been completely cleared by 4 p.m.
