Experience two story walks with the Mattapoisett Land Trust

Dec 3, 2020
MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Land Trust Education Committee, in collaboration with the Mattapoisett Library and the Old Rochester Regional School District Community Service Learning students, teachers and parents, have installed two story walks for families to enjoy on Land Trust properties.

On the Dunseith Property, off Route 6 by "Salty the Seahorse,” families can walk through "A Green Day” by Antoinette Portis. At the Munn Preserve Property off Mattapoisett Neck Road just before the entrance pillars of Antassawamock, guests can experience "Rosie: Stronger than Steel " by Lindsay Ward.

Students from ORR  worked on two separate Saturdays, Oct. 24  and Nov. 21, to set up the story walks

“A great partnership has been established with ORRHS Community Service Learning Students and Karen Browning, Math teacher and advisor,” Mary Cabral, MLT Director and Education Committee member, said. “It is nice to be surrounded by positive and energetic young people while working on the beautiful Land Trust Properties."
