Filmmakers finishing production in Rochester
Rochester is now ready for its close-up.
Independent filmmakers are wrapping up filming around the intersection of Vaughn Hill and New Bedford roads for an upcoming thriller, “Frank the Bastard.”
According to the production team, the film centers on a Brooklyn woman who retreats to Maine following a mental breakdown. Once there, she “plummets into the world of her past and comes face to face with the toxic legacy that has been literally buried beneath the town for decades.”
Former Dartmouth resident Brad Coley is directing the film, which stars Chris Sarandon, ex-husband of actress Susan Sarandon. Chris is known for his roles as Prince Humperdink in “Princess Bride,” Leon in “Dog Day Afternoon” (from which came an Academy Award nomination), and providing the voice of Jack Skellington in “Nightmare Before Christmas.”
The film also stars Rachel Milner, William Sadler, and Ellen Albertini Dow, who is known for her role as “Rosie the Rapping Granny” in the film “The Wedding Singer.”
Filming has also been done in New Bedford and Wesport. According to the production team, many residents of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester are involved as crew members.
