Fish and frogs at Marion’s shorelines found by young explorers
MARION – Marion’s shoreline yielded exciting finds for the Marion Natural History Museum’s Coastal Exploration group over the weekend.
They had a “wonderful time” exploring Marion’s shoreline, inland wetlands and woodland areas, wrote Elizabeth Leidhold, Executive Director of the Marion Natural History Museum.
The group collected examples of plankton, caught fish and frogs in their nets, investigated tide pools and took trips to Bird and Ram Island.
“The museum would like to thank Hannah Moore and David Wilson and Andrew Miller of the Marion Harbormaster’s department for their help in making it such a special week,” said Leidhold.
This was the last week of the Marion Natural History Museum’s Coastal Exploration program, which will return next summer.
