Florinda (Souza) Reed, 94, of Rochester, passed away Aug. 29 at the Southeast Mass Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Robert F. Reed.

Reed was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Antonio M. and Deolinda (Rocha) Souza, and resided in Rochester most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. She was employed as a registered nurse by the former John I. Paulding Company until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Luke’s Alumni Association and was active with the Rochester Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include her sons: Robert F. Reed and James M. Reed; a sister: Hilda “Pat” Pszczola; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six nieces.

She was sister of the late Alfred Souza.

A memorial service was held Sept. 9, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Vaughan Hill Road, Rochester. Interment was in Sherman Cemetery, Rochester.
