MARION — The Marion Art Center will host a two-day Art in Bloom exhibit and two related workshops on May 14 and 15. 

The Marion Garden Group will provide floral arrangements to pair with the works on exhibit at the Marion Art Center. Florists or arrangers who are interested in adding an arrangement should contact the Marion Art Center by June 1. The art center will also hold an opening reception on the first day of the exhibit from 6 to 8 p.m. 

On June 14 the art center will host a workshop on floral painting with watercolors by Patricia White from 10 a.m. to noon. The price will be $35 for members and $45 for non-members, plus a $10 materials fee for high-quality watercolor paper. Participants should have some watercolor experience and bring paints and brushes. 

The next day, also from 10 a.m. to noon, the art center will host a Your Flowers in Your Vase workshop. The class will focus on finding and using flowers from participants’ yards. Workshop prices are the same as the June 14 workshop, with the addition of a $15 materials fee. Students should bring a large vase from home and foliage, though there will also be supplemental flowers at the class.
