Gladiator hockey teams have undefeated weekend

The Squirts beat the Coastal Gold Stars 8-3 on Saturday. Ben Hebbel led the offense with three goals while goaltender Nate Wilson stopped 21 of 24 shots. On Sunday, the team beat Milton 6-2. After a close two periods, the Gladiators pulled away in the third with four goals.

The Bantams beat the Canal Sharks 7-1 on Saturday. Quirino doCanto led the way, scoring a hat trick in the game. Luke Mello and Tyler Lovendale also each scored a goal and Jack Martins scored twice. Goaltender Alex DeMarco stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced. The Bantams will travel to Foxboro next weekend to play in the Goblet Tournament.

The Midgets finished their season with a 4-3 win over the Southcoast Panthers. After a scoreless two periods, the teams combined for seven goals in the third. Lovendale scored three goals to complete a hat trick. With a little more than 30 seconds left in the game the teams were tied 3-3. Gladiator Coach Ben Hathaway pulled goalie Steven Strachan for an extra attacker. Robert Ramsay scored the game winner with 19.9 seconds left to end the season on a high note.
