MATTAPOISETT — Harbor Days got a taste of Bob Ross-ian fun on Thursday, July 15 as Paint at Splash held an adult paint night under the big tent.
“I just need to grow out my ‘fro,” quipped Painting Instructor Bridget Bannon.
Participants who registered for the event were supplied with a canvas, palette, paints and brushes before being led through the process of recreating a painting of a sea-side landscape.
“It’s really just wonderful company and a great experience,” said Mattapoisett resident Emily Marvin, who attended the event. “And what better backdrop for it.”
Paint at Splash owner BJ Peternel said that the company has been doing the painting events at Harbor Days since before he and his fiance bought it four years ago, but unfortunately couldn’t do it last year as Harbor Days was cancelled during the pandemic.
“It’s nice to be back out doing what we normally do,” he said. “It’s always a lot of fun.”
A portion of the ticket sales for the event were given to the Mattapoisett Lions Club, who host the event each year.
