Learn about sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression at Rochester presentation
ROCHESTER — The Rochester Rainbow Coalition and the South Coast LGBTQ+ Network will host an informational series exploring sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression Monday, Sept. 21.
The event, to be held at the Rochester Council on Aging at 67 Dexter Lane, will begin at 6 p.m. Following installments in the series will soon be announced.
The Monday evening presentations will include three parts.
Andy Pollock, executive director of the South Coast LGBTQ+ Network, will explain sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. She will also explain how this understanding helps people see LGBTQ+ people as individuals instead of a category.
Dr. Sara Gonzalez, a pediatrician, will cover the topic from a medical perspective, and John Masson, the Network’s board president, will address related mental health issues.
The event is open to anyone 18 years old or above with an interest in learning about this topic. Admission is free, but spaces are limited. RSVP at sclgbtqnetwork.org/sogie.
