Marion 4th of July Parade rolls through on the 5th

Jul 5, 2014

It may have been a day late due to rain, but Marion had a perfect morning on Saturday for its annual Independence Day parade.

Adam Deery of Mattapoisett brought his 1942 Harley Davidson, rescued from Russia and restored.

"I found it outside of Moscow," said Deery.

Many other classic cars, from old fire engines to Cadillac and antique farm tractors, were also in the parade.

Charlie Bradley of Marion brought his Model A complete with passengers – wife, Priscilla, grand daughter, Mikayla Seymour, and her dog, Marley.

The Bradleys are often found in the parade.

"He has a lot of model As," said Priscilla.

Local companies and organizations made floats for the parade and several bands played patriotic tunes.

The Wareham Militia also made their first appearance.

"It's this area's Fourth of July parade so we need to support it," said Capt. Malcolm Phinney.
