Marion to celebrate 101-year-old resident

MARION — The Town of Marion announced a special "Boston Post Cane" presentation ceremony honoring its eldest resident. 

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center. 

This longstanding New England tradition recognizes the eldest resident in the community, celebrating a lifetime of experiences and contributions.

Members of the Select Board as well as the Town Administrator will be present at this ceremony.

 Mr. Roy Wilson Wingate (“Wil”) will turn 101-years-old on May 16 who is currently the oldest resident of Marion.
