The Marion Police Department recently added another full-time officer to its ranks.

Officer Scott Cowan graduated from Plymouth Police Academy on Friday, April 14, and was immediately tapped for full-time service.

Cowan, who grew up in Middleboro and now lives in Wareham, has been a part-time officer in Marion since 2012. "We advertised, and he came on board then," explained Lieutenant John Garcia.

Garcia said that Cowan liked the job, and decided to enter the police academy last year. His first day was October 31st, Halloween.

As Cowan's training finished this year, Garcia said that a full-time slot became available at the perfect time.
