Marion police make arrests after alleged scrap metal thefts

Marion police officers arrested two 29-year-old men around noon on Tuesday, March 18 after they allegedly tried to steal scrap metal from a Point Road property.
A neighbor told police that two men were taking the scrap metal from a yard on Point Road. According to Marion Police Chief Lincoln Miller, Everett Franklin of New Bedford and Robert Rohrbach of Wareham, attempted to ask if the metal was for sale, received no response, and then began to remove the material.
Everett was charged with trespassing and larceny less than $250.
Rohrbach was charged with trespassing with a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and larceny less than $250.
