Marion Selectmen make short work of town business

Dec 16, 2015

With a short agenda and a holiday party developing around them in the Music Hall, the Board of Selectman moved quickly through their agenda Tuesday evening, handling all business briskly in 15 minutes.

Two items consumed most of the brief meeting.

The contract with new Harbormaster Issac Perry was approved after a presentation by Town Administrator Paul Dawson. The 30-month contract is effective Jan. 1, 2016 to June 30, 2018, and involved a one-time payment for excess accrued sick time to Perry to bring his allowed accrued sick time into conformance with town policy.

Selectmen agreed to postpone a decision involving two parking complaints on Mill Street. Dawson asked for more time to research the complaints, but expressed the opinion that there was probably no town issue as the parking spaces in question were likely not on town property.
